Concerns About CBD Oil? They're All Manageable

CBD, or cannabidiol, is a natural remedy that seems to be taking the world by storm. It is useful for managing a wide range of conditions and health ailments, ranging from headaches to arthritis pain. In general, CBD is quite safe. But as with any medicine or herbal remedy, there are a few concerns. These concerns are not completely unfounded, and it would be unwise to completely dismiss them. But here's the truth: they are all manageable. Here's a look at a few of the most common concerns about CBD oil and how you can manage them.

Concern #1: CBD oil will make you high

CBD itself does not make you feel high. That's THC, another compound in cannabis. Most CBD is derived from hemp, not cannabis, and in order to be grown legally as hemp, it needs to be less than 0.03% THC — which means the final CBD product is way too low in THC for it to have any effect or to be measured in a drug test. If you're concerned, just look for a CBD product that is labeled "THC free" and that has been lab-tested to verify this claim.

Concern #2: CBD is not legal

You're not alone in your worries that using CBD is in some way illegal. The legality of cannabis products varies by state, and regulations are vague. However, CBD derived from hemp, meaning that it is 0.03% THC or less, is legal in all 50 states. You can use CBD without any worry of arrest, ticket, or judgment.

Concern #3: CBD will make you too tired

Many people do take CBD to help them fall asleep. It can be a really effective remedy for insomnia. However, it is not likely to make you feel overly fatigued or tired in the middle of the day as long as you do not take too much. Moderate your dose, using as little as possible in order to get the effects you desire. This may mean you need to use 10 mg gummies instead of 20 mg gummies during the day, or just puff one time on your vape instead of two. If you're getting tired in the daytime (and there's not some other reason, like lack of sleep), then you are using too much CBD.

These three concerns about CBD are legitimate. It could contain THC if extracted from a marijuana plant containing THC, its legality is confusing, and using too much will make you sleepy. In spite of these concerns, though, it remains an excellent remedy for so many people.

For additional concerns, reach out to a dispensary or store that offers products like THC free broad-spectrum CBD oil.
